Todays date was the 24 of November. Today it nearly reached 50 degrees which is rather unusual for this time of the year in Michigan. I went outside around 12:40 to my 30 by 30 area. It was a beautiful day out. It was dry and sunny and warm. the length of day has gone down significantly with it turning into winter and the day was only 9 hours and 27 minutes long. A lot had changed sense the last visit. There was no longer snow on the ground and there was almost no leaves on the trees. I saw no snow on the ground and I only felt the crunch of leaves and twigs under my feet. I heard the sounds of the builders near by but other than that it was quiet in the woods.  Here is another sketch that I did - I choose a picture of one of the pine trees in my area.        Today I went out around 3:45 to my field study space. The length of day toady was much shorter, it was only 9 hours and 47 minutes long! Today was a lot colder than the rest and there was even snow on the ground! The temp. was around the upper 30's. It was getting even darker even earlier so I had to make sure I got out there before the sun went down. The date was 11/14/22. Throughout the day it was cold with a little wind. There was snow that stuck to the ground overnight and stayed during the day. I heard the cars going by on the road and I also heard the voices and other sounds of the people working on our barn. I looked around and saw the same items in the same places but they all looked a little different because of the weather. The green on the pine trees stuck out because there were no other leaves on the trees. I could see the snow on the ground covering the dead leaves and I could feel it crunch under my feet.  Todays date was October 30. It was colder but not too cold. The weather was dry and around the upper 50's in the after noon. I went outside at about 6:30 while it was still light out. The sun has been setting earlier and earlier so I have been having to get out there before the sun goes down to get good pictures.  Today's date was 10/12/22. I went out around 7:15 while it was still light. Today it was raining pretty much all throughout the day so that made everything wet. It was in the 50's throughout the day. The length of day was eleven hours and twelve minutes. While I was outside it was pretty quiet other than the sound of rain dropping from the trees and the leaves rustling under my feet as I walked. When I came back my shoes were wet because of the rain we had that day. This time I finally started to see some change in the leaf color. There was a lot more oranges and yellows as well as many more leaves on the ground.  Here are pictures that I took from North, East, South, and West facing the same tree in my previous posts and below are notes about what I noticed.  North side  East side  South side  West side  Todays date was 9/27/22 and pictures were taken around 5:45 pm. The weather was cold and cloudy and roughly 50ºF, there was also some rain throughout the day so everything was wet. The length of day was 11 hours and 55 minutes. I heard some birds including a large bird that I saw as I was entering the area that flew off. I noticed a few things had changed around the area. In the last picture of the West side, you can see a branch that had been broken off and the leaves were changing colors, but mostly everything else was a lot alike. This time is was much wetter than the last time because it had just rained. As I looked around the area and studied the tree I was wondering when the leaves would start to change color, because fall had come I assumed the trees leaves ...
